A common understanding is that the rapture can happen anytime. Without warning. If you limit your study to just a few scriptures, You may be seeing only one part of the rapture.

Consider these scriptures that all describe nearly the identical event. The scriptures are found in the Old Testament three of the gospels. Acts and Revelations. After studying all of them, it became apparent that the events spoken of in Mathew chapter 24 and 25 are chronological. They contradict the teaching that the rapture will be a mysterious event that only those that have gone in it will actually be aware that it has indeed occurred. These scriptures also debunks the notion that this event will happen out of the blue with little or no warning. The warning signs will be so dramatic, no one will miss this once in a lifetime event.

In Thessalonians, Paul has something to say about the thief in the night: Watch the verbiage and how consistent these scriptures are.

1Thessalonians 5:1-4 Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. But you, brothers, and sisters, are NOT in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.  Why would Paul equate the thief in the night with being in darkness?

Mathew 24:37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Was Noah caught off guard? NO! Only the ones perishing were caught off guard and left behind. The perishing world misinterpreted or ignore the signs. The believers in Noah's day,(only eight people) did not miss the event or wonder what happened.  Noah, his family and the animals were rescued. The opportunity came to those who were prepared and obedient to God's words.

What then are the signs of His coming?

What should we be looking for? Many prophesies have to be fulfilled prior to this rapture event. Until they are fulfilled, how can the rapture happen? Consider what Jesus said: The return of the son of man will be like as in the days of Noah. None of this caught Noah and his family off guard. This description is found in all these scriptures. Starting with the old testament, then the gospels and new testament and finally in the book of revelations.

Notice that before the event is tribulation, trials, persecution.  After the event is Judgement and punishment upon the world.

Mark 13:23 Joel 3:14-15, Joel 2: 28-31, Acts 2:14-16, Mathew 24:29-31, Luke 21:25-28, Revelations 6:12-17 Revelations 7: 1-8 Revelations 7:13-15 Revelations 7:9 Revelations 8: 12

The event is the Sun Moon and Stars.

Then the GREAT and TERRIBLE day of the Lord.

Great for some, terrible for others.

First the old testament

Joel 2:30-31 And I will show wonders in the heavens(stars) and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD .

Isaiah 13  For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. And I will punish the world for [their] evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will  cause the arrogance of the proud to cease and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. (Judgement).

The day of the Lord or the great and terrible day of the Lord are one in the same. How can one day be both great and terrible? Depends on which side of that day you are on. For Noah and his family, that day was great. They were safely lifted above the earth's surface and hidden by God inside the ark.  They followed the Lord in what they were shown and were rescued for it. If you were not with Noah in the ark, it was a terrible day.

What are these days about?

Joel 3: 14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. Rapture!

Gospels and confirmed by Peter in Acts.

Luke 21: 25-28 “And there shall be signs in the  sun, and in the moon, and in the  stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift your heads; for your redemption draws near.  Rapture!

Mark 13: 24-16 “But in those days, following that distress, “ ‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.

Mathew 24:29-31 “Immediately after the distress of those days“ ‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.

Acts 2: 14-16Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people.Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. Rapture!

Notice that Peter confirms part of the prophesy from Joel as having happened that day. He was referencing the Spirit falling upon people not the sun, moon and stars.

Before the event Distress. During the event sun moon and stars. The day of the Lord Great for some not for others!

Book of Revelations

Revelations 6:12-13 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, Rapture!

Revelations 8: 12-13 The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night. As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice: “Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!” Rapture!

We will make reference to this later. It is with amazing clarity that Jesus himself explains the rapture event.

There are 3 main events that occur prior to the rapture that everyone, believers and non- believers, will see.

  1. There will be signs in the sun. The result will be the  darkening of the Sun
  2. The moon will not give its light.
  3. The power of the heavens will be shaken. Indicates the stars will be moved from their current place. Some even falling to earth.

These three will be impossible to miss! Misinterpret yes. Just like in the days of Noah. However no one will miss them and when they end, everyone will know why.

Mathew becomes explicit as to what this means for the believer and the unbeliever.

What insight does the bible give us into the rapture

To start with Jesus describes two events similar in nature only yet distinctly different in effect.

John 5:25 Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.  Notice not everyone hears His voice and therefore not all the dead are raised. (Rapture)

John 5:28-29 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned. This is the second resurrection. Your future is predetermined by your actions. (2nd Coming)

Revelations 20:6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them.

Mathew 24:29-31 “Immediately after the distress of those days“ ‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.

When the sun is darkened, it begins and does not end until a sign appears in the sky. We do not know how long this sign will last. It is enough of a concern that Jesus asked us to pray that this

(sun moon stars event) does not happen in winter. How can any believer that reads these scriptures miss this event. We are not darkened.

Mathew 24:30 . The sign of the son of man will appear in Heaven. There is no indication that unbelievers will see this sign or if they do see it, they do not understand its significance of it.

Mathew 24:30  And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.

Jesus said that it will be just as in the days of Noah. The unbelievers are continuing life while for over 100 years Noah and His family are building the Ark. Had they understood what was coming, I am sure they would have asked to enter the Ark with Noah. The door was shut and the rain began. It is then that they realized they had NO escape. They may have climbed mountains to avoid the deluge but to no avail. Every mountain was completely covered in the flood. When they see the son of man coming it will be too late and that is why I believe the nations are mourning. This indicates two things.

Mathew 24:30

  1. At this point they recognized who Jesus is and that the proverbial door is shut.
  2. They recognized the fate they chose and were mourning over it.

First event He is gathering select people.

John 5:25 Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.  Notice not everyone hears His voice and therefore not all the dead are raised.

Mathew 24:31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. Gather does not indicate second coming but gathering in the sky's.

Note: Allot of people thought this was the second coming. The second coming is with ALL His angels and He sets up His thrown in Jerusalem. After this Jesus Describes in great detail 3 of the rapture parables to show us  what they will look like.

Mathew 24:39 That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken (raptured) and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken(raptured) and the other left.

Mathew 25:1  “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.

This story continues until verse 13. 5 left with Jusus (Rapture).

Mathew 15:14 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.

This parable continues to verse 30.

Mathew 24 31  Mathew 24 39 Mathew 25:1  They are welcomed into the marriage supper of the Lamb. (All by Faith) (Rapture).

Acts 1:3 He(Jesus) appeared to them(as a group) over forty days and spoke about the Kingdom of God. After this, he was taken up (Raptured) before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.

Acts1:11 Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

Is it coincidence that the rains fell for forty days during the time of Noah and Jesus appeared to the disciples and many others for forty days.?

Our bodies will be changed in an instant. But the whole event could take around forty days. The dead are raised first. Remember what happened when Jesus was raised from the dead.

Mathew 27:52 and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people.

1 Corinthians 15:42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.

1 Corinthians 15:52
in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

Revelations 8: 12-13 The fourth angel sounded his trumpet

The event should last around forty days. Even the parable concerning the wise and foolish virgins dispels this thought that the rapture is quick and silent. . The wise were taken into the banqueting room for the wedding feast. The foolish came later where Jesus met them at the door. This event will coincide with a trumpet blast of Revelation 8: 12-13. It also coincides with the 6th seal in revelations. Revelations 6 12-13.

Mathew 24:11 Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us! Depart from me for I do not know you.

Daniel 12:11-12 “From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination  that causes desolation is set up, there will be1,290 days. Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days. (45 more days). Here is that time period again!

Second coming event he is gathering Nations for judgement.

John 5:28-29 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned. This is the second resurrection. Your future is predetermined by your actions

Mathew 25: 31 “When they see the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

Here are the differences between the Rapture and the Second Coming.

Rapture                                                                                                                                                            Second coming

Jesus talks about only 4 angels.                                                                                                                       all of his angels

People being resurrected                                                                                                                                  People come back with Jesus

The world is out of control                                                                                                                                Jesus rules with an iron scepter

Where does this put us in the timeline?

We know that the Sixth Seal and the fourth Trumpet are the rapture events recorded in Revelations

That would mean we will see or live through Seal 1-5 and Trumpet 1-3

Where does that put us in the timeline of current events?

Prior to the rapture. You can determine if these prophesies have already or are currently unfolding.

Mark 12:12 Betrayal within families (This is the Baptism of FIRE)

False Prophets performing miraculous signs to deceive even the elect.

Daniel 12:4 The mystery of these events is revealed.

We are going through at least part of the tribulation or what Jesus referred to as . About the sun. moon and stars event. Jesus tells us multiple things.

  1. These times will become so difficult that people will be dying from fear of what they see coming upon the earth. He also asks us to pray that this sun, moon and stars event doesn't occur in winter . Imagine the world cast into darkness (or at least darker) . The power of the sun to warm the earth is reduced by 1/3. Temperatures will plummet. Jesus said if He had not shortened those days, no flesh would survive.

What happens during and after the Rapture?

Mathew 24:30 Jesus appears on the clouds

Mathew 24: 30 The nations mourn. Their fate is now sealed

Mathew 24:40-41 One taken another left. Multiple examples of people being left behind. Revelations 7:9 After this (after the sixth seal but before the seventh seal) I looked and there (in heaven) before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation and tribe people and language, standing before the thrown and before the lamb. They were wearing white robes. Then one of the elders (24 elders in God’s throne room) asked me, “These in white robes-who are they, and where did they come from?” I answered, “Sir, you know.” And He said: “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation. they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the lamb.

They are not the 144,000 Jews because they can be counted. It's not us!

Mathew 24:31 Revelations 8: 12-13 The Trumpet is sounded.

Revelations 8:1 Seal # 7 Wrath begins Silence in heaven for about half an hour. Wrath of God

Revelations 9:12 Part of fifth trumpet Woe #1                                                       Wrath of God

Revelations 11:14 Woe # 2 part of the sixth trumpet                                             Wrath of God

Revelations 7:17 Tears are forever wiped away.

Revelations 9 1-5 A star that Had fallen is now given the keys to the shaft of the abyss releasing locusts and more to hurt people.

Wrath of God

Now as you read the scriptures surrounding the sun moon and stars event, you will know where you are in time.

For me the final season began Feb 2014. A miraculous event with absolute accuracy was demonstrated. Then the Lord spoke that the final season has begun. There are witnesses to this and confirmations.

In 2017 many people noticed what they believe to be the sign in Revelations chapter 12 1-6 This makes perfect sense since the announcement of Christ was in the stars for any wise person to follow.

How does the Jewish Nation play into this?

The timeline is the fullness of time gentiles coming in. Then the end. Just before the end, Israel begins to respond to the timeline.

This is the biblical timeline of the Jewish Nation going into the Great White throne judgement.

  1. The nation of Israel is restored from throughout the world.
  2. They restore the temple and begin daily sacrifices
  3. The man of lawlessness appears.
  4. The man of lawlessness abolishes the daily sacrifices and sets up the abomination of desolation where it ought not to be.
  5. Now the clock is set for 1290 days. according to Daniel
  6. Near the end will begin the 45 day period Daniel spoke about. 1290 plus 45 = 1335 days.

Daniel 12:12-13

Blessed are they that make it to the 1335th day. Thats it for timelines.  There is still a lot of prophesies to be fulfilled, however it could happen quickly! God in His Grace has let us see two of them in the sky. The Stars in Revelation and the Black Horse over Northern Maine.

2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident I say and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord

John 14:2
My Father’s House has many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you.

So, dying takes you from your body. We are present with Him (Jesus). He is with the Father in Heaven. So, we are there too waiting for our physical bodies to be resurrected.

What will His appearing look like?

Romans 6:5
For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.

Like Him Imperishable walking through walls (Luke 24:36) Not restricted by physical laws. He also ate with them. (Luke24:43) His disciples recognized Him and understood their relationship to him.

What is the Resurrected body like?

1 Corinthians 15:42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.

1 Corinthians 15:52
in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

Paul is referring to himself and expecting Himself to be changed into the resurrected believer.
